Callaway County Same-Day Releases
The Callaway County Sheriff does not publish a stand-alone 24-hour release list. Its official roster chooser offers “Current Inmates” and “48 Hour Release.” The second choice is defined as people released from Callaway County Jail during the prior 48 hours. A same-day answer is made by opening the released inmate roster and keeping only entries whose exact release time falls within the preceding 24 hours.
This is a timestamp-filtered slice of the sheriff’s longer list. It should not be called a sheriff-published 24-hour feed. The boundary moves with the current time, so an entry released at 3:00 p.m. yesterday is inside the set at 2:30 p.m. today and outside it after 3:00 p.m. The public list is labeled “Released Inmates Booking Date Descending.” That label also warns that visual order follows booking date, not necessarily the most recent release time.
Check Callaway County 24 Hour Releases
Work from the exact release timestamp, not the page order or booking date. Write down the time at which the list was checked. This creates a clear cutoff and makes a later review possible after an entry rolls out of public view.
- Open the sheriff’s roster chooser and select “48 Hour Release.” Confirm that the destination URL contains
released=1. - Read each visible Release Date/Time. Compare it with the current local time and retain only entries less than 24 hours old.
- Open the matching profile. Match the full name, booking number, booking time, charges, and arresting agency to avoid a same-name error.

- Check the court docket or receiving custodian when the entry does not explain whether the exit was bond, time served, transfer, or another event.
The released list is short-lived. A person absent from it may have left more than 48 hours ago, may still appear as current, or may not be publicly displayed. Note: Preserve the check time with the booking number because the sheriff advertises no public archive beyond its rolling window.
Callaway County Release List Fields
The live list and profile contain useful identity and timing fields, though every field may not be filled for every booking. A photo position can hold a booking image or a “photo not available” placeholder. Most important, the visible list does not state the release reason or destination.

A release timestamp is direct evidence that Callaway custody for that booking ended. It is not proof that all custody ended. Transfer to the Missouri Department of Corrections, another county, BOP or USMS, or ICE can close the county booking while confinement continues elsewhere.
Callaway County Bond Release Details
A bond release is one common community exit, but it does not end the criminal case. The sheriff’s bonding instructions say Callaway accepts court-authorized cash or surety bond. Cash bond requires cash or a certified bank check; the jail does not accept a credit or debit card for it. A charge in the 13th Judicial Circuit requires a court-approved bonding agent when surety bond is used. Other bond forms need approval from the court of venue.
The public released list can show the time the booking ended, while the court record supplies the bond order and continuing case posture. Do not treat “released” as dismissal or acquittal. Callaway Release or Custody Transfer
The current roster and released roster answer different questions. A current entry indicates that the person is still displayed as held at Callaway County Jail. A released entry indicates that the named county booking ended. When the same person appears in a conflicting state, preserve both observation times and ask jail staff to resolve it.

FRDC is a state diagnostic and transfer institution near the county jail, not an extension of the local roster. An exit to FRDC is a transfer into MODOC custody. Likewise, a person released from prison to parole may live outside an institution while remaining under MODOC supervision. “Out of this jail” and “free from all custody or supervision” are not equal claims.
Why Callaway Uses 48 Hours
Callaway’s published product is one 48-hour release list. No separate 24-hour filter, stated refresh schedule, or longer public archive was found in the sheriff’s official channels. The same-day view therefore depends on a reader-calculated cutoff. Because the list is sorted by booking date descending, a recent release can appear below a person who booked later but left earlier.
This design makes prompt note-taking useful. Save the booking number, exact booking and release times, and the source-check time. A screenshot can preserve what was displayed, but the sheriff warns that the web page is not certified for accuracy or authenticity. For durable proof, the dedicated records route is stronger. The records custodian can produce an existing booking and release sheet and state the legal basis for any withheld part.
Callaway’s arrangement is locally broad in one way: the sheriff states that municipalities in the county do not run their own city jails. Local municipal arrests use county intake. Still, the released list stops at the county custody boundary and does not track a person after transfer.
Callaway Release Photos and Apps
The released profile reserves a place for a booking photo, but some entries show a placeholder. A missing image does not undermine the release timestamp, and a displayed image does not establish present custody. The sheriff’s site map advertises the roster, alerts, Facebook, press releases, and records functions, but it does not advertise an official mobile app.
Missouri DPS states that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect are not affiliated with DPS or MOVANS. Neither should be presented as the official Callaway County release-notification channel. The sheriff roster remains the first official photo source during the short public window. If the image is needed after that period, identify the booking number and ask the Records Unit for the existing booking photograph in native electronic form.

A focused request should give the full name, booking number if known, and a narrow booking-date range. Ask for the existing booking sheet, booking and release times, release type or destination if recorded, charge list, release authority, and booking photograph. Request electronic delivery, separable redacted material, a cost estimate, and rolling production. Missouri’s response deadline requires action as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day, not full production within three days.
